My Little June Bug!

In 1996 I went into Petsmart to get some dogfood. I already had a dog at home and had no intentions of adopting. As I walk into the store, to my left is the cutest little brown eyed dog I'd ever seen. The poor thing was so thin you could see every bone in his body, but he still had the cutest little tail wag. I stopped just too say hi and got to talking to the volunteer about his story. The poor little guy just a few days before had literally had his two front bottom teeth KICKED out by his owner. He was nearly starved to death and had just been neutered the day before. Talk about a tramatic little life for a dog who was less than a year old! Despite all of this he was just as sweet as could be. I convinced my husband to come see him and it was love at first sight. It could have been the red and blue football bandana the dog was wearing that sold my husband (he's a Patriot's fan). We took him home and quickly realized the terror he must have been put through. He was terrified of most men and loud voices of any kind. With just a little work and affection from my husbands friends he quickly realized everyone was his friend (and a good source of snack food). We still have our little man 10 years later going strong! He's such a little character and so wonderful with our children! I just couldn't imagine life without him.
