My husband and I had been discussing getting a dog as soon as we felt our children were old enough. As our son and daughter were nearing their 4th and 7th birthdays, we began researching local adoption agencies. We were certain that we wanted to adopt rather than purchasing a dog from a pet store or breeder as there are so many dogs out there that need good homes. We had no idea what kind of dog we wanted. We visited several local shelters and adoption days at local Petsmart stores. Then, this past July, we went to the adoption day at the Petsmart on East Colonial Drive in Orlando, FL. The minute we walked up to the door, we saw the dog that was meant for our family - an adorable Basset Hound named Sandi. A New Beginning Pet Care and Rescue was handling the pet adoptions. Everyone we spoke with from A New Beginning was wonderful. It was very obvious how much they cared about each and every animal and they wanted to make sure they all went to good homes. They were able to give us great information about our new family pet. Sandi has been a wonderful addition to our family. My husband, children and I absolutely adore her. And after researching so many different adoption agencies, we would highly recommend adopting from A New Beginning. They made the adoption process seamless and gave us a wonderful new family member!
