Charley
September 6, 2011
When Charley stepped off the Rescue Waggin'® vehicle at the Bay Area Humane Society (BAHS) in Green Bay, Wisconsin, staff members noticed that he limped. Once the vets checked him, they discovered that Charley needed surgery on his hips.
BAHS helped raise funds to facilitate Charley's surgery at Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital in Minnesota.
The surgery was a success and back at BAHS, Dana and Colleen Homb were waiting to adopt Charley. He got along well with the Hombs' two other dogs and bonded immediately with their young daughter, Adelai.
The Hombs feel good about providing a home for an adult dog who might not be adopted as quickly as a puppy.
"Charley is just the coolest dog – he really is," Colleen says. "There's just something about Charley."
