Barney

My husband and I first saw Barney (named Miller by the shelter) at the PetSmart Charities® Adoption Center in Fort Worth, Texas. He seemed very quiet and mellow in his cage. I knew he was "the one" when the adoption volunteer put him in my arms and he licked my face. He came alive when we walked him to the private viewing room and he began jumping into my husband's lap and prancing around the room. I knew that he would make a great member of our of family within the first few minutes of meeting him.

I cannot thank you enough for helping us bring this delightful little dog into our home. My husband and I work different shifts and "Barney" has been a wonderful companion to us both. He is full of personality, cuddly and has quickly snuggled his way into our hearts. Our home is a happier place with the addition of Barney.

He loves to snuggle with us when we are watching TV or reading in bed. If he doesn't feel like he's getting enough attention, he'll playfully swat at our hands until we give in to some "belly rubbins" as we call them. When we ask him to come to us, he'll flop over on his back and waive his front paws in the air as if to beg us for more "belly rubbins." He also has a knack for hiding his toys. Every toy or busy bone we've given him goes missing within seconds. We have no idea where he keeps these items, but it's definitely comical when we finally come across it. He loves to join us on car trips and enjoys playing disc golf with my husband. He is happy to be with us whatever we are doing and we just love him for it.

He has such a charming personality that we renamed him Barney Stinson after one of our favorite sitcom characters. I've even started making ties he can wear so he can "suit up" for special occasions. He has brightened our lives and made our home a much more warm and welcoming place. He's a wonderful companion and even after only a few weeks. I cannot imagine our lives without him.
