Bella-09282011

My husband first saw Bella, our Pit Bull, in November of 2008. He'd gone to our local Animal Rescue and Adoption Center to "just look." When I got off work that day, he said we just HAD to go back down and look at what they had. We wandered around, and little 4 month old Bella put her paws up on the cage, her little baby pittie smile shining in all it's glory, and her little tail wagging like crazy!

We honestly just knew she was supposed to come home with us. Her face and body were so expressive. She chose US. We know that. When we reached in to pet her, she just leaned against our hands and wiggled. We walked away a couple times, and she would whimper and try to see where we were going. She knew we were supposed to be her people!

She is LOVE. She knows if we are having a bad day, and she will come sit near us and just love on us until we have to smile. She's also helped to make us a little healthier because she will almost beg to go on walks. She loves going out walking, and will be in your face until you go! It's been great!

Bella has a teddy bear that is just her's. The other dog doesn't get to play with it. It's a nasty looking old thing, because she actually sucks on the bear's tummy before she goes to sleep. It's so amusing!

Bella was waiting for her original pet parent to come and get her from the shelter. He had called to inquire about her, and the control officers told him what was required to get his dog back. He never showed back up for her. We were so lucky to have found her, and for her to have saved us! She has gone through both Beginner and Intermediate training classes at our local PetSmart® store - and we are looking forward to hopefully getting her Canine Good Citizen and letting her become a therapy dog!
