In addition to our existing spay/neuter clinic equipment grants program, PetSmart Charities® is pleased to announce new grant funding guidelines for two new U.S. programs: targeted spay/neuter and free-roaming cat spay/neuter programs.
- Targeted spay/neuter program: efforts to sterilize owned pets by concentrating on an identified local need or problem, such as particular neighborhoods, pets in low-income families or specific types of pets.
- Free-roaming cat program: efforts to trap, neuter and return free-roaming cats.
For the two programs (targeted spay/neuter and free-roaming cat), PetSmart Charities will consider applications in the range of $10,000 to $100,000, with the possibility of a two-year commitment. This means that for these two program efforts, we expect to be awarding fewer, but larger, grants. Grantees will also receive more support and mentorship during the course of a funded project.
