Grant News!

Big news! We're in the process of refining our grant programs and guidelines so we can further our efforts to save the lives of homeless pets, while focusing on key areas. We will launch our new programs mid-summer and, as you'll discover, they will continue to reflect our Vision of a lifelong, loving home for every pet.

Canadian agencies are not affected by this information. Contact Kit Jenkins at kjenkins@petsmartcharities.org for your applications and guidelines.

Did you apply for a Spay/Neuter, Horse or Foster grant during the time period of October 2008 to March 15, 2009?

We are planning to have all approve/decline notifications out by end of August 2009. All applicants will be contacted by mail. Please do not call to ask for a status update; we are not able to discuss the status of grants by phone.

Are you planning to apply for a spay/neuter grant in the future?

We will be launching our new spay/neuter grant guidelines and deadlines during the summer of 2009. All of the animal welfare organizations that have valid email addresses in our database will receive email notification that the guidelines have been posted. If you do not believe that we have a valid email address for your organization, you may submit an email address to be added to our webinar notification list which will ensure that you are contacted when the guidelines are posted. Please email info@petsmartcharities.org with “Webinar Notification List” in the subject line. We will post the information to the Web site by the end of July 2009.

We will continue to make grants for spay/neuter clinic equipment throughout the year, but applicants must speak to a program manager to receive permission to apply. Contact info@petsmartcharities.org.

For funds to help with large-scale disasters (e.g. natural disasters), animal victims of violence or single rescues involving 50 or more animals (e.g. hoarder rescue), you can apply for Emergency Relief by calling Barbara Fought at 1-800-738-1385, ext. 2840. Click here for more information on PetSmart Charities'® Emergency Relief program.

If you read the preceding information and you still have questions, please contact us at: info@petsmartcharities.org or 623-587-2312.

Thank you!
