Foxy
Foxy is a 7-month-old fox terrier mix. If ever there was a dog that fit her name, she is it. A petite 21 pounds, with long legs, it's hard to ignore this little girl with her fox-like ears.

Foxy was found on the streets of Indianapolis. She had a cast on her front left leg. No one claimed the little dear, so they placed her in foster to help her recover from the whole experience. Her leg healed and is just the way it should be. Then Indianapolis decided to send her on the Rescue Waggin' after being in a foster home for over a month.

Foxy was in an outside kennel, waiting for us to show up with the van. When I first glanced at her, I was told her name was Foxy. But of course! The ears that stand up along with her light red coloration just fit. The Indianapolis staff person carried her to the van. Jim, our driver, took one look at her, heard her name and laughed. It fits.

This little dear is going to break hearts in adoption.

Leslie and Chris really wanted another dog as a companion for Charlie, their dog. Leslie saw Foxy on the Wisconsin Humane Society's web site and knew this was ‘the dog'. Leslie rushed over to WHS on a Friday evening and she was told that Foxy was being adopted and wasn't available. She was really upset because she instinctively knew that this was the perfect dog for Charlie. On Saturday morning, she decided to go back to the WHS to look at dogs and she saw that Foxy was still there. She was so excited and immediately adopted her. Foxy, now named Lucy, is very intelligent and gets along great with Charlie.

"I wasn't sure if we should get another dog because of all the extra work, but this is one of the best decisions I've ever made! She is the most unique and intelligent dog we've ever had. We'll never purchase from a breeder or pet store again. She is my friend for life. When we first brought her home, she would often give us a look as if saying, ‘Thank you for saving me!' (That one sounds kina kooky, but a fellow dog lover would understand, I think). We love her!" Leslie.
