Thank you for sharing your concern regarding PetSmart Charities' emergency
relief efforts. The following information should address your questions:
What is PetSmart Charities doing to help pet victims?
Generous contributions made to PetSmart Charities
provided more than $3.5 million dollars in pet supplies, transport and
funding to more than 135 actively-involved animal welfare agencies since
the day after Hurricane Katrina's passing.
PetSmart Charities grants are funding the following needs: food, crates,
litter, beds, medical supplies, vaccinations and capital repair costs
for shelters. PetSmart Charities also transported lost and abandoned
animals from the affected areas to designated evacuation shelters with
its specially-designed Rescue Waggin' pet transport vehicles from its
Midwest and California programs. The Waggins transported nearly
one-thousand animals in the weeks following the hurricane.

How can I support the pet relief efforts?
The best form of support you can provide for relief
efforts is a cash donation. Through our partnership with PetSmart stores,
we are already providing much needed supplies to animal welfare agencies
in and around the affected areas. You can donate in one of three ways:
- Make a cash donation at the Charity Dog receptacle inside any U.S.
PetSmart store between Aug. 30 and Sept. 30, 2005.
- Mail in a check donation directly to:
PetSmart Charities
Attn: Disaster Relief
19601 North 27th Avenue
Phoenix, AZ 85027
You can also help by being a foster parent to one or more animals as
a result of shelter overpopulation due to the Hurricanes. Contact your
local animal welfare agency if you are willing and able to be a foster
home.

Where does my money go?
Your donations support animal welfare agencies
actively assisting pet victims of Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita,
and other disasters each year. Supplies needed at the Hurricane Katrina
disaster site include:
- Pet food, bowls, leashes, and collars
- Crates, beds and kitty litter
- Medical supplies used for first aid to injured pets
- Vaccinations for displaced pets to prevent disease outbreak
- Repairs to shelters damaged by flooding, high winds, and fires

How much of my donated dollar actually goes to the pet victims
of Hurricane Katrina?
Donations designated to PetSmart Charities for emergency
relief go toward pet victims of this and other disasters each year. One-hundred
percent of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita funds will be used to
help pet victims. As damage estimates rise each day during the aftermath
of Hurricane Katrina, the amount PetSmart Charities can give to the disaster
is growing by tens of thousands each day, so the need to give to disaster
relief is increasingly greater.

What agencies receive my funding?
Your donation to the PetSmart Charities emergency relief fund
helps various actively- involved local and national animal welfare agencies
to meet the critical needs of the pet victims of this and other disasters
each year. We are grateful to have already received an overwhelming number
of requests and we hope to be able to continue to fulfill the growing
need. A partial list of our initial agency partners is below:
