Emergency Relief Waggin'® Vehicle Deployed to Tennessee
Approximately 116 Exotic Birds Rescued
PHOENIX (August 4, 2011) —PetSmart Charities® has dispatched one of its Emergency Relief Waggin' vehicles to assist with a recent rescue effort involving approximately 116 exotic birds in Portland, TN. The birds were living in deplorable conditions at an alleged exotic bird mill just outside Nashville. This rescue is being performed in conjunction with the Portland Police Department and Animal Rescue Corps (ARC).
The 53-foot Emergency Relief Waggin’ vehicle was stocked with sheltering supplies and equipment to assist the birds and human responders in this rescue effort.
