Willamette Animal Rescue Terminated
PHOENIX (January 15, 2013) —PetSmart Charities has terminated Willamette Animal Rescue as an adoptions provider, effective immediately. Authorities arrested the president of the Salem, Oregon group and seized dozens of dogs from a related facility on Sunday.
PetSmart Charities is granting $20,000 to the Oregon Humane Society to help care for affected pets and has reached out to Willamette Humane Society and Marion County Dog Shelter to make them aware of our emergency relief program. The primary concern is for the safety and well-being of the pets involved.
