The Inaugural Event Was a Huge Success for Homeless Pets!

On January 25, 2009, on a beautiful, sunny afternoon, more than 10,000 pets and 8,000 of their Pet Parents attended the inaugural PetSmart Charities PetWalk in Tempe, Arizona. They trotted, pranced, jogged and walked the trails around Tempe Town Lake to raise money to help homeless and unwanted companion animals.

Deemed one of the largest pet-themed events in Arizona, PetWalk raised more than $340,000 for 39 animal welfare agencies and PetSmart Charities – and everyone seemed to have a blast doing it! PetSmart Charities would like to thank all of the sponsors, vendors, participants and four-legged friends who supported the PetWalk this year.
