King
February 9, 2011
In November 2009, a Utah-based woman walking her dog spotted King lying in a ditch. His front legs were tied together, he had suffered serious burns, and was severely underweight. She brought him to the Uintah Animal Control and Shelter, where the staff immediately began to care for him.
In October 2010, after being nursed back to health by senior vet technician Tomi Machuca, King rode the PetSmart Charities® Rescue Waggin'® vehicle to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley in Colorado. That's where Mary Klages and her children first saw King and immediately adopted him.
“He's marvelous, gentle with kids, obedient, attentive,” says Mary. “We found the perfect dog thanks to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley and the Rescue Waggin' program.”
