“Pit Bull” Adoption Program

September 23, 2011
Kim Wolf, Community Engagement Specialist, Animal Farm Foundation and Stacey Coleman, Executive Director, Animal Farm Foundation

This presentation is designed to help shelters, rescues, and advocates better serve the pit bull dogs in their community and increase adoptions.

Animal Farm Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to securing equal treatment and opportunity for pit bull dogs, is pleased to present “Turbocharging Pit Bull Dog Adoptions”. This presentation is designed to help shelters, rescues, and advocates better serve the pit bull dogs in their community and increase adoptions. The presentation will cover six areas: marketing & customer service, polices and practices, enrichment and layout, behavior and training, language, and community engagement.

The information is based on low- or no-cost best practices implemented in a variety of environments including open-intake animal control facilities, limited-admission private shelters, and volunteer-run rescue groups.

Although this presentation is focused on pit bulls, the ideas can be applied to all the dogs in your care.
