PetSmart Charities® Presents Jim and Spike

A small Yorkshire Terrier was found wandering the streets of Fort Worth, TX with a gaping wound on his neck. The injured dog was quickly rescued by animal control and brought to the City of  Fort Worth animal shelter. There, the little guy received the care he needed to heal, was named Spike and put on a 72-hour hold to allow time for his owners to find him. The pup was then neutered, vaccinated and prepped for adoption at a PetSmart Charities Adoption Center where he found his new forever family a mere 14 minutes later.
You can help save a dog like Spike at PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend. Held quarterly at PetSmart® stores, our National Adoption Weekend events bring people and pets together to save homeless pets. To-date, PetSmart Charities has saved the lives of over 7 million pets through adoption.
